Mr. Khamjane Vongphosy, Laos Minister of Planning and Investment, visited Tsubame BHB’s Pilot Plant along with his staff. Plant representatives introduced the company’s electride catalyst technologies and small ammonia synthesis facilities, as well as the green ammonia and fertilizer businesses currently undergoing feasibility studies under the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)’s SDGs business support survey scheme and in pararell MoC with the Laos Ministry of Energy and Mines, and provided a Pilot Plant tour where ammonia is actually manufactured.

Laos has great potential for green growth, as renewable energy accounts for 83.4% of the country’s power (source: ASEAN Power Updates 2021, ASEAN Center for Energy). Tsubame BHB’s technologies will enable domestic production of ammonia and fertilizer in Laos for the first time, and contribute to development in agriculture and sustainable economic growth in Laos.
