Many African countries rely on imports for fertilizer and energy, making them vulnerable to volatility in international markets. With small-scale distributed ammonia production plants, Tsubame BHB aims to launch local production and consumption businesses model for green hydrogen, ammonia, and low-carbon fertilizer by utilizing locally available water, air, and renewable energy sources. This initiative will contribute to food security in African nations and global decarbonization efforts.

The signing ceremony for this MOU was held at the Yokohama Bankers Association on August 21, in conjunction with the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) held in Yokohama from August 20 to 22, 2025.
